About Us

You Can Help Publishing has evolved into a not-for-profit publisher of high standard human service books and resources. Our publications have been at the forefront in providing bespoke literature addressing particular issues of need and urgency in communities – including issues and challenges created by natural disasters.

Without compromising quality we strive to produce low-cost publications that are especially useful to small and large organisations who have the capacity to buy in quantity, for wider distribution and a greater social impact.

We prefer to publish books and resources that can help:

  • Individuals achieve emotional resilience, succeed in important relationships, cope with challenges and change, maintain good mental health, and have the capacity to live and work meaningfully, creatively, and passionately.
  • Individuals achieve the best physical health, wellbeing, and quality of life of which they are capable.
  • Build the capacity of organisations and communities to initiate informed action and pursue strategies aimed at enhancing human health, welfare and wellbeing.
  • Inform and support health and human service professionals in their endeavour to achieve better outcomes for their patients, clients, and constituents.

Free printable resources on our website We have commenced development of a range of small printable resources available free of charge, for use by organisations, and for use by individual practitioners for clients/patients. These are available in Publications/Free Resources. Please respect the source, authorship, integrity of content, and design in the way you use these resources.

Simplicity for economy Our endeavour is to keep what we do as simple as possible in order to be able to offer the lowest cost publications. We do not have DGR status for tax concession purposes and have opted for a quite basic operating model in order to avoid having to charge full commercial rates for what we produce. By not-for-profit we mean that our charges reflect production, administration and postage costs only.

The quantity, purpose, and cost formula Almost invariably, the larger the order for any published item, the lower the unit cost. It is often worth asking us to provide costings for a variety of quantities of any publication you envisage distributing. The low unit cost that can be achieved with greater quantities may modify the scope of your thinking and strategy. We have often found that when purchasers have opportunity for low unit cost (with a somewhat greater quantity), that this justifies them attempting more, or greater coverage of a group or community, than they first envisaged.

Placement of your group or organisational logo For items ordered in sufficient quantity, we can often arrange for the inclusion of an organisational logo in the design. With some larger publications, we can sometimes arrange for the inclusion of a preface or introduction written by the purchasing organisation (contact our Production Manager to discuss).

Our clientele includes small community and non-government organisations, as well as larger corporate, government, and non-government entities (see Our Clientele).

Can we assist other likeminded groups or organisations with their publishing needs? We may be able to assist other likeminded groups and organisations with their own design, printing, and publishing needs, and even distribution, but not marketing (other than potential inclusion our website, when we deem this suitable and appropriate). For further information please contact our Production Manager.
